Change in the Board of Directors at ATESTEO GmbH

Successful transition from a founder-led company to an international market leader

Dipl.-Ing. Wolfgang Schmitz assumes the position as acting CEO of ATESTEO GmbH as of June 30, 2016. He will carry out this function in addition to his position as Chief Operating Officer, which he has held since 2003, until a decision for succession has been made.

Dr.-Ing. Wolfgang Krause is resigning as CEO of ATESTEO at his own request but remains a shareholder and continues to support the company as an advisor.

Wolfgang Krause joined the Board of Directors of ATESTEO (formerly GIF Gesellschaft für Industrieforschung) in 2013 and was appointed as CEO shortly afterwards. Together with Wolfgang Schmitz and the other members of the Board of Directors, he made a substantial contribution to the positive development of ATESTEO and successfully contributed to the company’s transition from a founder-run enterprise to an international market leader. ATESTEO is now a leading global specialist for gear box, hybrid drive and brake testing for the automotive industry and has a strong international position.

“We would like to thank Wolfgang Krause for his excellent and constructive collaboration as well as for his strong personal commitment to the successful internationalisation of ATESTEO,” says Günter Hauptmann, Chairman of the Advisory Board of ATESTEO. “The company is now entering a new phase – a phase of expansive growth in testing and engineering services. The basis for this has been established over the past three years under the guidance of Mr Krause. Therefore, we are delighted that he will remain associated with ATESTEO and we wish him all the best for his future.”

“Together with our dedicated employees, we have achieved a lot over the past few years: from the focusing and further development of our growth strategy throughout the expansion of our capacities in Kassel and Suzhou (China) to a new brand image,” said Wolfgang Krause. “I am now looking forward to new challenges.”
