Wolfgang Schmitz appointed permanent CEO of ATESTEO

Wolfgang Schmitz already holds the position as acting CEO.
Focus on further expansion of leading position in drivetrain electrification.

Wolfgang Schmitz will be assuming the position of Chief Executive Officer of ATESTEO GmbH permanently from January 1, 2017, having held this position in an acting capacity since June 30, 2016. He has been with ATESTEO since 1989 and was appointed Chief Operating Officer in 2003.

“Wolfgang Schmitz knows the company inside out and has hitherto been managing the company very successfully on an acting basis. The company is already benefiting from his many years of experience in drivetrain testing in particular. We are pleased that he will be continuing to contribute his valuable expertise and guide ATESTEO on its growth trajectory,” says Günter Hauptmann, Chairman of the company’s Advisory Board.

ATESTEO is an internationally active specialist in transmission, hybrid and electric drive and brake testing for the automotive industry. In particular, it holds a leading market position in drivetrain electrification thanks to electric motor and axle testing as well as battery simulation. The company sees attractive growth potential in this area and wants to systematically expand this business.
